2018 was the best/worst year of my life. I faced the heartbreak of missing the Olympic team, I lost Dexter a week later. I faced challenges I never thought I would ever have to confront. In the face of all of this, 2018 gave me so much back in return. I learned that I am so much more capable as a woman than I ever gave myself credit for. I learned that if you have a problem, if you’re unhappy, if you’re uncomfortable, you can go do something about it. I put active change into motion and I feel so empowered. You don’t have to settle for anything less than your best life. 2018, thank you for making me feel more badass and alive than I’ve ever felt. In honor of you I’m serving up my best Mona Lisa smile. Happy New Year!
