In this space that we are entering, I’ve learned that peace is everything. So many things are pulling at our attention. So many people are needing our time. Distractions are assigned to knock us out of purpose. Emotions are othen causing us to make non-qualitative decisions. The lesson for the new year is, “my decisions determine the quality of my life”. Being very careful with who’s in my space and the underlying tones or messages must be clear and not under anything. Being in a space of where now, I deal with what’s on the subconscious and not just at the forefront. But doing what I need to ensure that I’m operating as a whole individual and pulling all of the pieces of me, that I’ve left behind, together again.
Lately, I’ve decided to have family and friends who are safe filters and voice of reason. If the room is quiet, I’m not making it my job to fill the room with noise or sparking empty conversations with whom I’m not sure of. Praying with the heart of repentance and removing the weight of offense. Asking questions for clarity. And before responding, I pause, I ask myself will this feeling pass, or is there more to it? I’ve promised myself to be fair but to keep peace. As growing individuals, a blur can be created in passing conversations because we respond from inner unsettlement from previous situations but respond to the present from that undiscussed place. However, lately I’ve been saying what I mean with respect of others, and making sure there is no room for misinterpretation of what I’ve said or what I’ve heard. am I my brother’s keeper? Yes I am. It is my pleasure to be sure that you feel loved and respected when dealing with me. In this season, my peace is your peace. No, this isn’t dragging out unnecessary conversations.
