Starting life a as foursome Strawberry Switchblade the Glasgow band were fronted by Rose McDowall and Jill Bryson. The pair were part of the late seventies Glasgow Punk scene and adherents to the music of the bands from the city including Orange Juice. As a duo they released their first single in 1983- "Trees and Flowers " followed in 1984 by "Since Yesterday" (featured here). Characterised by an array of polka dots and flowing black hair the duo were instantly recognisable. Further singles followed with notable success in Japan until the duo called it a day on Strawberry Switchblade in 1986.
