I miss my friend. A part of me thought that if I didn’t say anything here, I could somehow hold on to the feeling that she wasn’t really gone. But she is. And today I’m feeling really sad. Angel Food isn’t the same without her and our lives don’t feel the same without her. I know we are so lucky and so fortunate to have known Georgine at all, but right now I just miss her and wish we could drive over to her house and sit and talk. We kept each other company this fall when my other half was traveling and she was recovering from her hip surgery. Those talks and navigating that beautiful balance of silence and conversation in her home while her cat swirled around her ankles will forever be some of the most precious time I’ve lived through. Because of her I will always remember what is most important in life, that you are never too old (or young) to change and that you should never, ever, undercook carrots. Thank you, Georgine. You were the most beautiful friend to us. ♥️
