あけましておめでとうございます。
“この道”
いよいよ映画が公開されます。正直な気持ち…。日本国民全員に観て欲しいです。なぜなら、きっとDNAを感じるはずだから。とても静かな映画で、派手なアクションや、爆発シーンがあるわけではないけれど、日本の奥ゆかしさを感じる静かなストーリーの中に、昭和の戦争入っていくその激動の時代に、音楽のあり方、童謡がどう歌い継がれていったのか…。その当時の方々の気持ちを、感じれば感じるほど、涙が止まらなくなって、最後には頬を伝う涙を拭くことすら忘れて、考えさせられていた。一しがないミュージシャンとして、もし自分がその立場だったら…。作詞、北原白秋。作曲、山田耕筰。2人が繋いだ優しさの気持ちに、自分の気持ちがほんの少しかもしれないけれど、重なった。だから、歌うことのできた “この道” という曲。恥ずかしくも自分の声に泣けてしまった…。そして、キャストのみなさんの半端じゃなく素晴らしい演技、そして何より自分たちの仲間であるAKIRA @AKIRA の優しくもあたたかく語る、晩年の山田耕筰の演技には、度肝を抜かれた。僕もSuddenlyのミュージックビデオで特殊メイクをしたけれど、アキラの特殊メイクは最初誰かわからないほど役に入り込み、本当に素晴らしかった。ぜひみなさん、僕たち誰の心にもある、日本の心でもある童謡が、どのように歌い継がれていったのか、ご覧いただきたい。本当に素晴らしい映画をありがとうございます。そしてテーマ曲 “この道” を歌わせていただき、本当にありがとうございます。

The movie “KONOMICHI” is about to be released.
To be honest, I want everybody in Japan to see it because I’m sure everyone will feel the DNA that lies within it. 
Without big action scenes or explosions, it’s a very calm movie but you can see the elegance of Japan and how music has been attached to us throughout 
the Showa Era until now. The more I learn and understand about the era my tears don’t stop flowing. At the end of the film it really makes you think. 
It made me think about if I were in the same situation. One humble musician, Hakushu Kitahara who wrote the lyrics and Kósçak Yamada who wrote the song. I felt that their journey somehow was similar to mine. 

That’s why I was able to sing “KONOMICHI” and I’m ashamed to say this but I cried listening to my own voice. 
The actors all played a great role in this movie. Especially AKIRA who played Hakushu Kitahara was amazing! I had experienced special effects makeup for the MV of the song “Suddenly” but AKIRA was so into that role that I couldn’t even tell it was him when I first saw it. Please watch this movie and feel the passion that lies within us. Also you’ll see why songs for children is still called the heart of Japan. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to sing “KONOMICHI” for this movie.
