Scott Dozier, the death row inmate who fought to be executed, died in an apparent suicide last night. VICE News's @giannatoboni spoke to him last year just days before his execution was postponed. Dozier was scheduled to be the first death row inmate in the United States to be executed with the synthetic opioid fentanyl in July. His execution in Nevada was postponed after a drug manufacturer sued the state’s Department of Correction. After the postponement of Dozier's execution, Carey Dean Moore was executed as-scheduled in Nebraska, making him the first-ever prisoner to be executed with the drug.
