About a year or so ago I discovered @janedavenport and her gorgeous art supplies at my local @michaelsstores and embarked on a creative journey I would never have predicted. I’ve always loved to draw and sketch but Jane dared me to explore many a medium and throw it all out there to create. What an incredible blessing her encouragement has been to me. Her incredibly versatile, luxurious and beautiful products sparked a dream in me, a passion to play and this is the result. I’m an amateur and novice in the world of painting and drawing but I’m having the time of my life throwing it up against the canvas and seeing who or what falls out of my hand. Indulging a passion for something that takes me out of my head, into my sanctuary and ignites a spirit of true enthusiasm has changed the way I move throughout my day. Has changed the way I approach the most menial of tasks, the most significant of responsibility’s. Me time has quite literally made ME whole again. I realize not every one of you out there has a passion for painting but you have a passion for something and I challenge you to honor it. Find a few hours a week to shut yourself away and make yourself whole by feeding whatever your true hearts passion is. It’s worth it. Trust me!
These photos are of the pictures I’m making, my perfect art space and the corner where my kids create with me. I find the space and the time incredibly sacred and am so grateful I’ve managed to carve out that space for myself and can invite my kids to share in it...or not!
