Ces éléments, ainsi que le traitement raffiné des étoffes, rappellent la grandeur du règne du souverain, alors âgé de soixante-trois ans.
Rigaud a apporté un soin particulier au traitement du visage, qui apparaît en un réalisme saisissant.
L’image du pouvoir absolu se retrouve ici quintessenciée.
