What’s wrong with this picture ? Now that we know the appalling damage to the life of this planet that is caused by plastic waste, how can this penny not drop ? How can we NOT recycle plastic bottle tops like this ? How many millions of tons of waste plastic per year are dumped unrecycled because of this policy ? After all the huge fuss about plastic bags, and what seemed like a national resolution to end this dreadful pollution, how DARE my local authority tell me that I can’t put this bottle top in the recycling bag ? What’s the excuse? The manpower necessary to sort them out is too costly? The machines get gummed up? NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Can we really stand for this? Here’s an idea. Let’s appeal for someone to come forwards and lend us a brown site to make a BOTTLE TOP MOUNTAIN. Then let’s find somebody who can recycle bottle tops and make them into something useful. And give them the project of converting the mountain into new goods. And finally we will shame the government into dealing with this national disgrace. Can we really stand for this? Here’s an idea.
