This may not be the most liked egg on Instagram, but it certainly is one of the most ornate. On view in Gallery 555 of the @メトロポリタン美術館, this work is one of fifty Imperial Easter Eggs created for the Romanov family by Fabergé beginning in 1885. The creation of each egg required the work of many people—designers, gem cutters and setters, engravers, enamelers, polishers—and each could take more than a year to complete. Not sure what you guys think, but to us it’s always looked upside down. Thoughts? ?
