An area of life I’m currently choosing to focus on. Sometimes I feel like life is going so fast I get caught up in its tail wind tornados and find myself translating my thoughts and feelings into rushing fleets of wide open seas or closed off oceans.
I want nothing more than to jump into life and go with the flow but my fear of drowning keeps me running out to sea only to fall back again.
What if we fail, what if it’s not like we dreamed it would be, what if we end up feeling nothing more than mediocre?
I settle for waves of focus in favour of seas of dreams because I’m afraid of what might happen if I let myself lose sight of my current shore.
But how can we learn to swim in the depths of all that life has to offer if we don’t first let go of the fear that’s keeping us afloat?
You see, it’s not the ocean I have a problem trusting, it’s in my confidence to swim // I’m sorry if we ever got lost in translation — for the times insecurity smoothed, sharpened or changed my features or ego dwindled down my embarrassingly long captions into subtle lines that seemed more mysterious and aloof. I’m sorry for all the times we connected in shallow waters and if you aren’t entirely sick of all the ocean metaphors yet, my sole intention in a sea of chaos is to create more waves of honesty and inspiration.
