Despite their reputation for having carnivorous appetites, their diet isn’t limited to moose, deer, elk, and bison – it also consists of nuts, berries, fruits, and leaves. While they generally live alone, grizzly bears will occasionally gather in large numbers at major food sources like for salmon Brooks Falls in Alaska’s Katmai National Park. When preparing for winter hibernation these bears have feasts of epic proportions, gaining up to three pounds a day!
