A rare lunar eclipse will unfold tonight called the SUPER BLOOD WOLF MOON.

It will be the first total lunar eclipse visible before midnight from start to finish in the majority of the U.S. in 19 years.
The super blood wolf moon is combination of three lunar events at once:
1. A supermoon is when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit during its full phase, making it appear bigger;
2. Wolf moon is a Native American name for the first full moon of the year.
3. A blood moon occurs with a total lunar eclipse when the sun, Earth and moon all line up and the shadow of the Earth casts a reddish glow on its lone natural satellite.

Unlike a solar eclipse, it’s perfectly safe to look at at lunar eclipse with the naked eye. By 8:41 p.m. PT / 11:41 p.m. ET, the Moon will be all the way inside the umbra, and that’s when the eclipse truly begins. The best view will occur at 9:12 p.m. PT / 12:12 a.m. ET.
