Our collection is and always has been thoughtfully hand finished in China with an ethical partner who pays fair wages, has a clean work environment, eco-friendly, and perhaps most importantly knows how to make a high quality eyeglass from the best materials sourced from all over the world. When I launched the collection in 2009, it was right after the recession, and I realized that people wanted and deserved value. I thought to myself about some products that I love like all my electronics and some clothing, my iPhone for example, I realized that it’s a premium product at a premium price and no one questions that it’s Made In China. I recognize this may be controversial for some and although I know some wish we made our products in America, or even Japan or Italy, we simply can’t. First of all, the best eyewear factory in the world happens to be in China, hands down. They have the most modern machinery and skilled craftsman who can deliver a scalable product. And we make only the best and I want to bring our product to more people who would appreciate what we do and I want to do it at the best price possible including the highest quality glass lenses from Japan, beautiful aged acetates from Japan and Italy, and German Hinge design. And the only way to deliver that in my mind is with our current partner. Here’s what matters most, we know how to make high quality classic eyewear.
