October 2004: I was scheduled to be a guest on Tonight Show with Jay Leno and they wanted to do a skit at the top of the show where Jay claimed to be a pro skater in his spare time. It would cut to me doing tricks as his [obvious] stunt double. They wanted him to at least stand on the board to get an establishing shot, but he almost Wilson’d (fell backwards) when we tried to roll him forward a little ways. His producer (in the hat) immediately canceled the idea, stating “I love my job, and I don’t want to risk losing it for this skit.” I went on the show that night as a traditional guest and the audience never knew that Jay almost broke his tailbone that day.
