LET’S TALK PERFECTING THE SQUAT!??‍♀️ And How To Target The GIutes! TAG A FRIEND because squats can be gIute-focused or quad-focused:
- Time under tension is best so if you feel the gIutes disengage, try doing partial reps to keep tension the whole time
- Weighted jump squats trigger fast twitch muscle fibers which grow muscles faster and in a different way than regular squats
- You can grow gIutes with low-moderate weight but be sure to do more reps until you feel burn
- Place the barbell lower on the back to have the weight more in heels and over gIutes versus the thighs engaging - Try squat holds where you pause the weight at parallel or even pulse the weight up and down at and above parallel - If you are not using mind muscle connection to truly feel the burn in butt muscles you could be overcompensating with legs and just growing your quads
- If you do not feel the burn during your last 3-5 reps then you need to go up in weight or reps until failure
