In the Dior ateliers nothing is fixed in time. For a practice rooted in tradition, innovation can come in many forms, whether embracing entirely modern materials or resurrecting skills from the past. The latter was the case for the Spring-Summer 2019 Haute Couture collection when the petites mains revived techniques of savoir-faire associated with Monsieur Dior's time to create a cluster of dresses that referenced the clowns of #MariaGraziaChiuri’s circus theme. Architectural volumes that transposed the construction of sleeves met whimsical dots and stripes laboriously shaped from satin to produce short and sexy dresses of a kind not normally seen beneath the big top! ⠀
