While I was back in Japan for a baby-moon in October, I brought back a few stuff for the soon expected baby.

One of them is a charm for smooth delivery, an Anzan-kigan charm (安産祈願) which I got from the temple we visited in Nikko.

Another one is the baby’s Kimono. It’s a Kimono that my sister and I used when we were born, so it’s about 40+ years old! Very vintage.. I’m glad my mother kept it in good shape all this time.

In Japan, 1 month after the baby is born, we go to the temple to pray for the baby’s good health and this Kimono is to cover the baby. We call this Omiya-mairi (お宮参り). The second picture is my mother and I at the Kamakura temple (鎌倉八幡宮) near my home. What kind of tradition do you have in your country?

I also did a lot of organization for the baby’s room so hope to share this tonight on Story!
