54 years ago today I was born.
On the same day, only 20 years before that, Auschwitz was liberated.
Today 44% of Americans don’t know what Auschwitz was. 61% of millennials don’t.
Anti-semitism is on the rise.

This is a picture of me from Martin Sherman’s play ‘Bent’, in London in 2006. I played a gay man who pretended to be Jewish when he was sent to a concentration camp because Jews got better treatment than LGBT people.
And yes, homophobia and transphobia are on the rise again today too.

Today is also International Holocaust Memorial Day. Please remember, but also speak and educate.
