Facebook has been paying people to install a research app that grants the company access to all of the user’s phone and web activity.

Following a report by TechCrunch, Apple said the app violated its policies and revoked some developer privileges from Facebook. "The important thing is that the people involved in that research project knew they were involved and consented," Sheryl Sandberg told CNBC when asked about Facebook's controversial data-collecting app.
