Dear Jackie,
Today would have been your 100th birthday. This day allows us all to reflect on all your accomplishments, but for me, this day is extra special.
Your sacrifices gave many kids, like myself, the opportunity to dream. The opportunity to conquer obstacles and pursue a greater goal.
I want to thank you for your selfless actions. I cannot imagine everything you had to endure to pave the way for generations of players.
You were more than a just a baseball player. You were a visionary. Your values and principles still impact us all to this day, and will continue to for years to come.
