I feel so blessed and fortunate that I love what I do. The Fashion Industry has given me a lot - a platform and opportunity to express myself creatively through my work and advocacy through my foundation. It has allowed me to learn from leaders and change makers and in turn share those with all of you. It has inspired me, challenged me and tested my spirit but it also has given me the utmost joy. I have grown so much as a person through my learnings from this industry.
What fashion has also given me is an opportunity to meet people from different walks of life who not only have taught me and inspired me so much but in the end have ended up being friends.
Ezra Williams is one such person. I met Ezra and I was immediately mesmerised by his energy and his optimistic and positive spirit . But what drew me close to him was his heart and soul, generous and kind. So when he asked me to co-host this dinner with him with two of my other absolutely favorite people, Tina and Laura, I said yes without hesitation because not only were we celebrating the New Year but also celebrating love and friendships. And representation, which has been a water shed moment this year. What I’ve learned over a period of time is that one must always say yes to an opportunity to celebrate friendships and love, for it brings joy. And what I know for sure is that in these challenging times joy is indeed the best healer. And as you all may know, I am a joy chaser.
So thank you, Ezra, for bringing all of us together and congratulations on your new beautiful restaurant!
