Just had a feast of a lunch at @rakudining in Canberra. Am going to have to describe the dishes very briefly as there were so many of them and I have to start getting ready for tonight’s show at the #NationalConventionCentre. To begin: delicately creamy oysters with cucumber and tosazu (green crystal not an edible feature!); pic 2 is the tuna tartare with wasabi and miso; pic 3 the snapper sashimi with truffle ponzu, wagyu bresaola, puffed potatoes and shichimi (as well as elderflower and nasturtium); pic 4 is one half of the sushi plate feat scampi and squid ink omelette; pic 5 is the other half, with toro and unagi (blissfully fatty tuna and eel); pic 6 is of the gorgeous wagyu gyoza; pic 7 the black cod with saikyo miso and pickled cauliflower; pic 8 is of the champion wagyu skewers; pic 9 takes us to the sesame ice cream with caramelised almonds and matcha wafers; pic 10 presents the chocolate whisky fondant with whisky ice cream and miso caramel. I may have got my numbers all mixed up, but I’m still stunned by all that beautiful food. I’m sure you can understand. (I also realise I forgot to post the picture of the wonderful scallop with apple.)
