“The archipelago is a little world within itself,” Charles Darwin wrote in 1839. His five-week visit to the Galapagos and his subsequent writing "On the Origin of Species published in 1859, was a revolutionary explanation of how life on the planet developed.
Tourists flock to the Galapagos to see blue-footed boobies, giant tortoises, and many other species which are unique to the islands. Scientists try to minimize the damage to the fragile ecosystem so that this "little world" exists for the next 160 years and beyond. #Galapagos, #Ecuador, 2017.
