Pilot Season Car Selfie!! Here’s the big joyful lesson I’ve been soaking up recently. I get to be an artist ALWAYS. When I’m on a project and when I’m not. I never actually stop being an artist… and I think that’s a truth I have to constantly re teach myself… especially in the in-between time. If I choose to do my work, I am living my artist life, and that is truly invigorating. The past few weeks, I've been auditioning for things that scare me, that are way out of my comfort zone, because when I spend the time to read the script, learn the lines, choose the wardrobe, and show up in the room to do the work, I get to be an artist. I get to stretch myself. I get to play. I get to be brave. Doesn’t matter if I get paid for it. Doesn’t matter if I book the job. For those hours of prep, I'm doing my work, and man, it feels so damn good to do my work.
