Amongst all the great musical equipment manufacturers Pearl Jam has worked with over nearly 30 years, @jimdunlopusa has unquestionably been PJ’s longest and most loyal supporter. Jim Dunlop Sr. ran the company he founded (in 1965) back in PJ’s early days, but it was his son, Jimmy, as a young artist relations rep, who fell in love with PJ’s music and who regularly talked-up Pearl Jam - as well as many of the other bands from the early 90’s Seattle music scene - to Jim Sr.
Pearl Jam, like so many other artists, have benefitted greatly from the musical innovations of Jim Dunlop Sr. and the Dunlop family in general. Our relationship with Dunlop continues strong to this day, which is why it’s with sadness we offer our deepest condolences to Jimmy, Jasmin and all at the Dunlop family on the passing of Jim Dunlop Sr. - father, grandfather, guitarist, innovator, businessman, industry icon, proud Scotsman, and a bigger than life personality that will be missed by all who engaged with him!
You will forever be missed, sir, but rest at peace knowing your legacy is an enduring one... from rock stars to beginners, and generations both old and young.
