When walking by @newportstreetgallery_london , artist @danielc noticed a familiar landscape hanging on the wall in front of him. The distinctive lavender sky, lone cherry blossom tree, and scorching waterfalls from his 2013 digital painting “Scorched Earth” all appear in the backdrop of a 2018 painting by German artist @_martineder . Did Eder knowingly replicate the piece, or is it a case of lost attribution from a google/tumblr/Pinterest search? Either way, we think Daniel Conway is due a $erious cut of the painting’s $ale, considering his work makes up about 50% of the canvas...and that it was sold to @damienhirst .
