??...In 1986, when I was 13, I was in a play with @thersc at the time the Queen came to officially open their ‘new’ Swan Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon...I needed some smart clothes for the occasion and my mum took me to the local @lauraashleyuk which I was obsessed with at the time. She bought me a purple pinafore dress covered in rose buds ( I wish I knew it’s whereabouts now, but you can see me wearing it in my Stories ) She also bought me the shirt I’m wearing in this photo...I think I remember that it was £48, which was SO expensive back then, and I also remember feeling slightly guilty about her buying it for me...however, I have worn it for years and years and I’m still wearing it today. It’s much more fragile than it was and it has a few holes around the buttons, but I still LOVE it over 30 years later, so thank you Mum, that was money really well spent!! ?? It doesn’t have a clasp so I attached a safety pin and added a bit of ribbon ( close up in my Stories ) • Earings - handmade by @vivienne.ridley from vintage powder compacts • Shirt - Laura Ashley, 1986 • Cardigan - this was a polo neck jumper; I put it on a hot wash to ‘felt’ it up a bit, cut right down the middle and added an old button • Belt - My late Granny’s ( it still has her name written on it because she decided to label everything when she went into a home ) • Pink Satin Sash - this was part of a theatre costume given to me by a friend who had performed in it at The Swan Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon in the 1980’s • Skirt - H&M, circa 1998 • Handbag - Charity Shop • Trainers - Second hand off eBay
