Electric vehicles are the latest trend for car companies. And it seems reasonable considering fluctuating gas prices, a push to reduce pollution and the hype over Tesla.
But turning a profit from going all electric has long been considered and accepted as a major challenge for automakers – and GM isn’t an exception. The company doesn’t expect its vehicles to turn a profit for at least a few more years.
GM plans to make its luxury brand Cadillac the lead brand for its electric crusade. But don’t ask about a GM electric pickup truck. That’s something you’ll have to “stay tuned” for according to the company. But the race for an electric pickup truck is certainly on – Ford is planning an all-electric version of its F-150.
