First time attending the Arizona gem show for my company @bayouwithlove was quite an experience. Incredible and of course a little overwhelming, learning a lot, absorbing a lot. Sure there’s a bit of sensory overload happening with endless booths filled with every stone imaginable, but also an information overload as I meet vendors and ask about their stones, their story, their origin. Bayou’s focus is on sustainable and ethical production which means understanding where everything comes from, how it was mined and the entire history of a stone from the time it comes out of our earth to the time it reaches a piece of our Bayou recycled tech gold. This is why it was so important for me to attend the gem show myself. Running a company means being there every step of the way, asking questions and digging deeper. Thank you to the sweetest @grazielagems for being such an incredible mentor and big sister, introducing me to your amazing partners and looking out for me on my first trip to the show. It takes a village and this woman really walks the walk when it comes to supporting women (especially those in her field!) and acting from a place of pure love. Til next time Tucson! I can’t wait to dive into designing around these special stones.
