#FriezeArtFair: A selection of Sterling Ruby's "DRFTRS" will be featured in our booth at Frieze Los Angeles, which opens Friday, February 15.

In Ruby’s "DRFTRS" series, collaged images float in gestural and impressionistic washes of paint. The artist cycles through an obsessive catalog of imagery—including snakeskins and orchids, engines, drug paraphernalia, Americana, arts and crafts, skulls and bones, ancient artifacts, caves and galaxies. Ruby has described collage as an “illicit merger," highlighting the transgressive nature of the medium.
