Shoulder Thursday!
This is one of my favorites (now). Shoulder health is to crucial for us climbers since most of us have at least a small labral tear in one or both of their shoulders. It’s just part of the game, unfortunately. But there’s a lot we can do to keep our shoulders strong so that the tears are manageable and we are able to stay in the game!
This is called the fly. It helps my surgical shoulder stay strong and it prevents my non-surgical shoulder to flare up from its tear (yes...) Slightly squat down, pushing your ? back, lean forward with a completely neural back. Make sure you’re not looking up at anything so you can keep that spine neutral the whole time. With arms down in front of you you’re going to lift up and pretend like you’re squeezing something between the scapula.
Remember it’s always best to start light to make sure you’re staying in good posture.
