Dear @petsuppliesplus , We are VERY concerned that you are taking your time to do what you said you would do by January of this year. ? Every day that goes by, cats are being unnecessarily harmed and mutilated on your watch and taken to some of YOUR stores. . Either you condone this barbaric cat mutilation or you are against it. You told us in November 2018, "We do not support cats being declawed unless it is deemed medically necessary for the health and well-being of the pet. We are currently in the process of updating our adoption partner guidelines for 2019 and expect that we will be working to phase-out any adoption groups that pro-actively declaw or dock/crop pets they offer for adoption." You also told us that this can be done by January. We have tried to privately inspire you to do the right thing and only use rescues/shelters as Adoption Partners who don't condone and perform declawing on innocent cats. . Cats who are declawed by some of your Adoption Partners will NEVER have the chance to live their lives free of pain and discomfort as healthy and whole cats. They won't even get the chance to show they will use scratchers and scratching pads like MOST cats do!? You have had 4 MONTHS to work on this issue with your executives and legal department. We trusted you that your word was good. Please let us know what is really going on. Did you change your mind? Are you getting push back from some of your franchise owners who condone this mutilating and inhumane procedure? ???
