55 years ago this week from the February 21, 1964 feature: "WINTER IN VENICE—Snow, mist and high tide bring a haunting beauty." The 9 page spread was shot in beautiful color by the great photographer Carlo Bavagnoli. This image ran in the feature with the following caption: "The season closes somberly but tide and salt water keep the canals from freezing.
