Pretty cool story- I met this woman named Stacy, and she tells me her 14 year old just got nominated for an Oscar for a documentary she was a part of called @periodendofsentence - about how periods are preventing girls from going to school bc of the taboo concerns around periods. They have partnered with the @thepadproject. This hit home for me bc I have been supporting @corawomen around ending the stigma around girls’ periods so that they feel safe and are even allowed to go to school while on their period. This is the reality for some girls in parts of India among many other countries. And can we talk about inspired by a filmmaker- to be recognized at 14?!?!?! If a 14 year old can rally troops and make a documentary that is nominated for an Oscar -what am I doing with my life???? I love that she was able to spread such an important message at her age. I am truly inspired by this 14 year old girl.
Nice reminder to just keep moving forward and see what can turn up with diligence and consistency. Congratulations #margaretsophiebrown and all the other collaborators on this film!!!
