According to Vietnamese legend, the lush rainforest islands in Ha Long Bay were created from jewels which a family of dragons spit out when they descended from heaven; hence the name "Ha Long" (lit. "descending dragon"). The bright, beautiful turquoise water and the verdant forest on top of the limestone islands paint the overall atmosphere of the bay lively green, which will turns into romatic shades of red and orange during sunset. The place was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and was also named as one of the world's New Seven Natural Wonders by New 7 Wonders Foundation.
