When we made Clarity over 20 years ago, our head space as a band was a mixture of defeat and mischief. After the total commercial failure of Static Prevails we knew that we were lucky to be given another chance by Capitol Records at making another album but we also knew that it would very likely be our last. It was like a last meal on death row. We loaded up our plate with string sections, timpanis, mallet instruments, and drum machines.

We were so lucky to have that chance to make Clarity and we are as surprised as anyone that it’s an album that means something to others 20 years later.

This album wouldn’t have happened without engineer/producer/mixer Mark Trombino, our A&Rs Craig Aaronson and Loren Israel, Jorge Hinojosa, our manager at the time who let us sleep on the floor in his offices while we were recording in LA.

j_corn91 Regardless of what time Clarity was released in, it is an amazing album that makes me stop what I'm doing and take all of its songs wonder in whenever I play it. the_hero_dies_in_this_one I was hooked to this album just 11 years ago.. and until now, never been and will NOT forever removed on my playlist. This band and this album changed my whole persona, became the best i should be. So much good words and adjectives to the band and this album. Momentous one for me.

omnichord Late to the celebration, but thank you for making this record. I was introduced to you guys when a friend took me to, i believe, a Clarity release show in LA way back then. That concert and this album hit me at just the right time and helped shape me as a musician.
