The Yu Garden, also known as the "Garden of Happiness," is an ample sanctuary located in the old part of Shangai, and a beautiful place to take a break from the frenzied energy of the big city. It was commissioned by minister Pan Yunduan in 1559, during the Ming Dynasty, as a gift to his father — a place to escape and relax in his elderly years.
