Narcissus, as Greek mythology tells us, fell in love with his own reflection so deeply he drowned and died.
Likewise, infatuation with yourself (serving no creative purpose) will lead you to drown into the self (ego) suffocating the very essence that makes you unique and beautiful.
Today people trade genuine human connection and authenticity for false praises (usually given by other sources engaged with this vampiric like feeding cycle)
We even go as far to encourage it, putting a social value on this type of behavior as if it is an achievement.
It stems from the desire to be loved (true self love is recognizing identity and vibrating purpose), but real love, like all things of value, require work, sacrifice, blood and sweat, vulnerability and alot of courage.
Reach out and help someone who can do nothing for you (what an attractive quality) See how much more gratifying and fulfilling it is than 10,000 or 100,000 likes on a picture you took of your own face.
Let’s work on recognizing and breaking this vice, creating and manifesting our true God given potential

Such a powerful message! Especially young people see a lot of beautiful people on social media and just kind of set a bar for themselves and how they should look like, it’s unrealistic, the pictures are photoshopped but looking at pictures and at how we could look like, or how perfect other people are (even though they aren’t) destroys our self esteem. It just gets harder and harder to love ourselves and we should never forget to appreciate our body and our own inner strengths. Btw you’re really slaying this turtle neck!!!🔥🔥

We're all taught at a certain age that we have to behave a certain way, or look a certain way for others to be liked and or/loved. I believe it directly correlates to becoming in love with yourself. Some people feed off of this cycle of attention, instead of possibly not knowing how to reverse it to instead see their true selves. Thank you for bringing this truth to light!👍🏼

Great words of self reflection. We all need to remind ourselves of our true selves, and why we love it. Thanks for your reminder! Happy Sunday! 😊🙏

This constant fever of publicity is a strange and often uncomfortable world for old timers like me. You do honor it beautifully, though!
