Thank you to my soulful, beautiful, passionate, kindred spirit and dear friend, @cleowade for sharing your inspiring vision for humanity with the world. You so exquisitely capture the essence of our PG world, a place where people of substance are celebrated heroes and heroines.
I want to share Cleo's words with you today for it was her poetry that encouraged me to finally follow my dreams and launch a menswear collection, unbeknownst to her. She captured me at such a critical moment last June. Designing menswear was at the front of my mind- I had been traveling quite extensively through the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East last year, and was so taken by the different versions of dressing I saw through my exploration. I also saw a white space for colourful, creative, soulful menswear; menswear options that are a language for a person to speak who he is to the world and what he stands for.
When I woke up on the morning of June 17th and saw these heartwarming words from my friend, it was the sign I had been waiting for, to act bravely, live boldly and take this next step. Cleo, I am forever grateful to you for instilling in me the strength to follow my heart.
I am so proud, excited and humbled to share our menswear collection with all of you, and am beyond grateful to our partners at @バーニーズ・ニューヨーク for believing in me, and taking this leap of faith with me. You have been such incredible partners from day one, and I only look forward to continuing our journey together.
