This time last Saturday, I was in the midst of one of the loveliest days lately. @humanrightscampaign had long invited me to be a part of their huge, fancy gala in #Charlotte each year- I'm so grateful I was finally able to be there! Such a BEAUTIFUL, inspiring, heart-felt night of courage & grace. I tried to rip a little of my speech here from their youtube post, but you know I don't exactly excel in that department. ???‍♀️ You can find my speech- & all the others too!- online. Being in Charlotte for the night had more gifts than even that tho: I got to see Anna who runs @byoungweb with such heart & talent & tenacity! ? I got to have a sleepover with my life-long bestie @gbairdfender - she even got me a DELICIOUS #VeganBirthdayCake (from yummy @bakedwellnc bakery in #Matthews ??) which we devoured in spite of a lack of flatware in our STUNNING, giant room at #LeMeridien. ? And I got to go to Ginni's daughter Fiona's first birthday party at @nodabrewing ? Fiona & I share a birthday, cuz Ginni's thoughtful like that?, so it was extra special to get to be there for #1. (& it didn't hurt that a bunch of HS friends were there to celebrate too- #GoCougars now has such a different meaning???)
