I had a thought that I’d like to share with you.
I recently went through something that almost everyone goes through. And I thought, in moments like this, it’s so easy to hate. To blame. They betrayed. They hurt me. They made me feel this way. I have the right to be hard. The right to build a wall between myself and anyone else who tries to get close to me. It is so easy to hate.
And so the reverse is true. It is so hard to love. To love unapologetically and with an unwavering certainty. But maybe that’s where true strength comes from. Or maybe it’s just the greatest secret in the world.
That the ability to love someone unconditionally no matter what you or they have done, is one of the greatest acts of courage.
And the greatest love stories in the world are also the greatest war stories. Knights whose armor is vulnerability and whose weaponry is gentleness slayed the calloused dragon and saved the damsel in distress, ourselves.
And so
If you have the capability to love someone, love them. This includes yourself and does not mean to allow yourself to be walked over. It means to love in spite of every reason not to. No matter how hard, how uncomfortable, how terrifying this may be,

Never minimize your ability to love someone. It may be the greatest weapon in the entire world.
