My friend @therealtarzann and waited years to visit the #greatbarrierreef but all we see is devastation so we created @savethereef because coral reefs around the world are dying out faster than at any other time in history and while 30-40% have died off so far, it’s estimated that 90% will be gone by 2050! Considering that marine life, not trees, accounts for the majority of oxygen we breathe, we MUST take better care of our oceans and reefs or it’ll be us and future generations who will suffer greatly…and the good news is there’s still time to reverse the damage before it’s too late. My charity @karmagawa donated $75,000 to 2 great reef charities @gbrlegacy and @reef_restoration_foundation in the past week, but that’s just the start so stay tuned for steps you can take to help — like using reef-safe sun tan lotion as denoted on the packaging that will say “Reef Safe” (see my Instagram story today to see an example) — and also go follow @savethereef to stay updated as the @karmagawa team and I will be dedicating the next few months putting together a comprehensive plan of action, together with a groundbreaking documentary that we aim to make even bigger than our #savetherhino video which got over 30 million views. We’ll need your help to make it happen and help us spread awareness as the cool thing is that coral reefs can regenerate all within a few years with proper planning, so we can actually win this battle together and then we’ll all be able to breathe a lot easier…literally…for decades to come!
