aw man, i’m so sad to say that my grandpa bob passed away.

papa loved rollercoasters, swimming, and toast with way too much butter. he loved driving, nature, disneyland, coffee, and thinking up clever costumes for halloween. he tried his best to be a good person and his love and gratitude for life was contagious.

i’m really sad that i won’t get to hold my papa’s hand anymore, or go on walks with him, or sit and share a bowl of ice cream together (like that time i was 3 and bored in church, so papa turned to me and said “let’s go to mcdonald’s.” we split vanilla ice cream in one of those limited edition glass batman mugs that somebody in our family probably still has in a cupboard somewhere. i was lucky to have 23 years of more memories with him, but that one is still a standout.) _________________________________________________________ papa and i had a really meaningful connection - one that added so much to my life. i’ll miss him a lot and think of him often - especially every time i eat ice cream. miss you poppy seed ❤️
