The 2019 Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize exhibition has opened at @thephotographersgallery in London this week, featuring the work of Magnum photographer @susanmeiselas.

Meiselas, who has been nominated for this year's prize for her exhibition 'Mediations', selects collaborative long-term project 'Kurdistan/akaKurdistan' to represent her in the show, alongside the work of the three other shortlisted artists.

PHOTO: At Sardaw, a former Iraqi military headquarters on the outskirts of Sulaimaniya, trench graves are dug up to reveal the remains of executed Iranian prisoners of war. A total of 18 Iranian soldiers were found executed in violation of the Geneva Conventions. An additional 13 civilians were found buried beside them. Kurdistan, Northern Iraq. 1991.
