Most lifters measure their progress in PRs. When you’ve been competing at the elite level for years, PRs are so few and far between that you have to measure progress in other ways. This was my last warm up at 129kg/284lbs. Was it a PR? Nope, not at all. Did I hit a PR on stage 4 mins after this? Nope (not that we were going for PRs at this particular meet, but either way) in fact I missed my jerk on the opener (lol why). But THIS LIFT, is enough to show me I am heading in the right direction. The small glimmers of progress are what make me excited for what’s coming. Things that used to be uncomfortable becoming comfortable. This was by far my best last warmup to date, right before my heaviest opener to date. This lift alone was my biggest take away from this weekend, not what I did on stage. I’m back and ready to keep pushing towards Pan Ams! (Ps thanks to person who snagged this video in the back, I never get to see what my warm ups look like... even though they’re usually ROUGH)
