Donovan Mitchell with some strong, heartfelt words after a fan in Utah last night told Russell Westbrook “Get down on your knees like you’re used to.” Mitchell, many of his #Jazz teammates, the #Thunder and the @thenbpa have all called for greater protection of players at arenas.

Unfortunately real life seems to have half heroes and half villains. Those who see a person’s nose or ears or legs or color of skin as a reason to not celebrate that whole person but to instead try to make that person feel inhumane and worthless are beyond understanding - influenced by wrong people or wrong media and weak thinking. Be a hero in life and have the courage to respect and celebrate that player or family member or friend or stranger you are lucky to interact with. You know what a true hero you are inside - prove it and show it! @marvel @espn #russellwestbrook @spidadmitchell @nba @nbaontnt

I sit courtside all the time, the stuff the guys say to one another is horrible. Absolutely horrible. Calling Westbrook “boy” is racist? Are you fucking kidding me?

Imagine if Martin Luther kept his mouth shut, Emmaline Pankhurst, victims of any abuse. It’s gotta stop!

@anthonyacho it's a rhetorical question. The fan has been banned for life from the arena.
