No lol it didn't rub me the wrong way. Her partnership with Canvas back in 2016-2017 did tho. Which if you don't know Canvas works with facebook. They made her do these weird no dialouge videos, made her do this blog that was disabled after she quit working for them. They made her do scripted FB lives where she had to talk about certain things in the order of the script. She only did the FB lives to begin with because Canvas is apart of FB all it was is promoting FB lives. It was completely selling out. They forced her to do Instagram lives where she couldn't say a word. It was really fucked up especially since it was marketed as her trying to get closer to fans. What really topped the cake was that her film was supposed to air on FB and I was waiting for it and it never came up and was only going to be on their live so once it finished it would be gone. Only problem is she premiered it during the week of a natural disaster, the hurricane. Only one person I know of saw part of that movie to this day. After that day she stopped posting on YouTube until recently. Her blog became disabled to write on, she stopped posting on Instagram or FB for awhile and hasn't done a FB live since then. So I'm not mad about this article or anything she is trying to help people and I hope this article does. It bothered me reading it because I had no idea until 2016 that this was going on and even then people weren't sure. I thought she was taking dieting for her show too seriously. Idek how people can find humor in this. It's so heartbreaking that she was going through this and could've died. If she didn't get help she probably would have died already. I started thinking about if I ever said something considered a compliment that ended up negatively affecting her.

hi Jennette, I’m not sure if you’ll see this but it’s worth a shot. I’ve been watching icarly since I was VERY young, it was a huge part of my childhood. I would have never imagined the struggles you have gone through and I so admire your strength to be so vulnerable with the world and open up about something that is so dark. as heartbreaking as your story was - I was very happy to hear you continued with recovery. recovery is not beautiful all the time and it’s not easy. you are such a strong & badass woman, I hope you know that. keep it up. you are very beautiful, inside and out.

Jennette, thank you for sharing this. You’ve been one of my favourite people my whole life and while it hurts to see you’ve gone through so much pain, I admire you all the more for sharing your story so hopefully it helps another person know they don’t have to go through this awful disease. You’re a true inspiration ❤️❤️❤️

I fucking love you, I had no idea and I looked up to you as a kid, and I was going through the same thing and in the past two years just started recovery and my heart is full I’m really happy to hear someone that I looked up to speak out about something I’ve struggled with since childhood. Thank you Jennette

Thank you so much for talking about this, it’s so nice to know that even famous people, whom we have looked up to, are real humans and struggle, too! Sometimes we lose track of that part of reality! 💕

Felt like I was reading out of my own journals from high school...in a good way. This was the most relatable thing I’ve ever read about eating disorders. Stay strong in recovery queen ❣️
