One of the things I learned in photography and art is to look at the same thing from a different physical point of view and notice how what we see shifts depending on the angle that we’re looking at it from. This could be a metaphor for life too. It’s harder when what you see isn’t a mere object but situations that have their own layers coupled with the layers within ourselves. So often I think we struggle with looking through someone else’s lens because of the notion that it validates their point of view and invalidates our own. We all want acknowledgement that what we see and bring has value. Perhaps we could meet somewhere in the midst and recognize the bits and pieces that are of value, that we can learn and grow from, and perhaps become more conscientious, compassionate and understanding of one another. Everyone has value, wisdom and a new piece of the puzzle to reveal. . . A different perspective of yesterday’s creative space. Sometimes doing something as simple as this with a photograph, painting or object helps me translate that into life and its lessons. I hope everyone is having an inspiring weekend out there.
