Solberg came out swinging with a stage win on SS11, taking 2.1 seconds out of Davids comfortable lead. On SS14, Higgins would be held back by an electronic issue that left #75 stranded; surrendering the lead to Barry Mckenna and moving Higgins down to P3 overall and Solberg in P2 overall. Throughout the remainder of the day, overall positions would remain the same, but Mckenna would have a moment on the final stage allowing Oliver to claw Mckenna’s lead down to less than 7 seconds overall at the last opportunity.
